We have just splashed over the
50% mark for being funded!

And, I can barely express my happiness.  It's giddy.  It's bubbly.  And it seems as if a dream just might come true!

It feels like this:

and this:

and i would NEVER be feeling so incredibly happy, were it not for your support!

Here is the website for our Kickstarter project for LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT!   If you have already donated, I hope you know how much my heart is filled with gratitude.  If you haven't had time yet, you're not too late. We are live this whole month of April showers. And if you could pass it on to a couple of friends who might enjoy it and get a laugh out of it, you have just brightened someone else's day, too.  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/846992597/lather-rinse-repeat-a-new-musical-comedy

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

HAIR AND SHARE ALIKE...

I had a friend once tell me, “Everybody has their cause.” And it's true. I do, too. This is not to be confused with, “Everybody has their issues.” Which -uh- I do, too. But that is for another discussion...

I'm back again with another plug for my show, LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT! and the Kickstarter campaign we are doing to get it funded. That's my Cause du Jour. (that's French, cherie!). I know money can be tight and right now you might not have any to spare. Maybe you've already contributed and brought tears of joy to my eyes (really!)  Or maybe you're supporting your own cause now. But here's a cause you have to agree, is a good one: Shared Laughter. It is, right?

So, here's my request. Do you know someone who could use a laugh today? Why not send them this link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/846992597/lather-rinse-repeat-a-new-musical-comedy?ref=email

I promise, the video is a smile-inducer. It's positively giggle-worthy. And, since laughter is contagious, maybe the person you send the LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT! video to will share the laughter with someone they know who needs a little pick-me-up. And there you have it. You have contributed to a very good cause: Happiness. Good for you. Good for us all.

Please share the fun. Follow us on Kickstarter and Facebook. Let's see who laughs the loudest!

Thank you for championing LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT!  It's a cause worth chuckling about!

BLAST OFF!

...and we're off!   We pushed the green "Launch" button on Kickstarter Monday morning at 9a., complete with a professional rocket launch countdown and an "oodle-oo" by one of our dogs.   It has been a hair-raising couple of days, to be sure.   (Who needs wigs?)   And now, three days later, we are at 10% of our goal.

(This is Sara, dressed as Anime in the show.  She is a professional Oodler.)

It is delightful to see such support; each time I get a message from Kickstarter that we have another "New Backer Alert", my heart gives a little tap dance.  Friends and family.   Friends of Friends.  Strangers.  I am so thrilled.  And so humbled.

It is actually quite difficult to write something and have it tossed out there to the wide, wide world.  Even with a history of writing and publishings and an award or two (small scale: class awards.  but, hey.  They are tributes, right?) This is the first show I have written for musical theatre.  Yes, I've had many, "What was I thinking?" moments.

I wrote Lather, Rinse, Repeat the winter after my father died, when my heart wanted so much to heal and laugh again.  I would find myself smiling at a page of dialogue, and then chuckling.  Songs would torment me awake, or a tune would find its place in the world as I was down doing barn chores.  First time I had ever written a song, too.  Did I mention that?   Talented friends came for read-throughs and workshops.  I had such encouragement!

And, now, here it is -- out in the world.  Hoping for a successful campaign.  Hopeful the encouragement will continue, on a world wide web basis.

And, on 1: let me hear an oodle-oo:   5...4...3...2...1...

WE NEED A SWIFT KICK!

LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT! is a musical comedy I have written, as you more than likely know, because when I was writing it a few years ago, I talked about very little else. On March 31, through the month of April, we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to get this puppy funded for a musical arranger (the fabulous Linda Dowdell) and to offset some production costs.

Check it out at Kickstarter.com, under the title “LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT!” in the theatre section.

We need just a little bit of green stuff to get this show off and running and lathering, and we could really use your help. In fact, after you see the video and while you're still chuckling, perhaps you could send a quick email to EVERYONE ON EARTH YOU KNOW and ask them to check out the video on Kickstarter, too.  And, then - why not? - ask THEM to send it out to their  mailing lists, too!  My understanding is the MORE the MERRIER when it comes to crowd-funding. So, I truly appreciate if you could help me spread the word, spread the love, and spread the laughter.
Anime, the Manicurist

We also have a page on Facebook under – you guessed it - LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT! If you're stuck for something witty to post some night as you sit looking at your computer, you could suggest that all your Facebook Friends check out our page and LIKE us and then head over to Kickstarter to watch the video. That kind of chatter is what will help us more than anything! Think of it as shampoo: the more water you add, the more bubbles you get. The more bubbles you get, the bigger and soapier your head gets, and then you get tears in your eyes... Well, okay, maybe that's not the best analogy. I lost my head there for a moment. (Head. Ha! Get it? Shampoo? Lather, Rinse, Repeat? Okay...Sorry. This has all just gone to my head. Doh! Did it again.)

I am truly thankful to you for helping spread the word. And, just in case you haven't been paying attention until now: Kickstarter.com – LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT! We are live the month of April.

SEEING THE WORLD THROUGH ROSE-COLORED GLASSES.

That's me, Dana, with my alter-ego, Golene Zurlene, coming to the forefront.   She pops up at the darndest times.  She is one of the characters in this new musical comedy, LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT.  A gal from the south who is stuck, stuck, stuck.  In this case, she was trying on spectacles and figuring out which ones might get the most laughs.  What's YOUR take on these specs?
